The city auditor is seeking an auditor for the Office of the City Auditor. Duties and qualifications are noted as follows:

General Duties: Conducts audits, studies, and program reviews, analyses, and evaluations. Performs a wide range of performance audit type work in matters, which are diverse and complex. Work under the general supervision of the city auditor and depending on qualifications may work under the supervision of an in-charge auditor. May serve as an in-charge auditor for a project or major segment of a project. Performs work in accordance with established audit principles, office policies and generally accepted government auditing standards. Completes audit tasks related to the assigned project with independence and impartiality. Analyzes, evaluates, and makes appropriate recommendations for improvements in the city’s organizational structure, functions, processes, policies, practices, and procedures, as applicable. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (preferably in accounting, business, public administration or related field) with at least ten semester units of accounting, finance, economics, or statistics. Advance degree or professional certification may be considered in lieu of experience.

Senior Auditor: Four years of professional auditing, analytical or similar work experience. Two of the four years experience must include lead-auditor or similar experience leading and directing professional staff; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Master’s degree, preferably in business administration, public administration or public policy, is highly desirable. Government sector experience preferred.

Auditor II: Two years of professional performance auditing, analytical or similar work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Master’s degree, preferably in business administration, public administration or public policy, is highly desirable.

Auditor I: Some experience in performance auditing, analytical or similar work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.

   University of Hawaii — West Oahu
The University of Hawaii - West Oahu seeks part-time lecturers in accounting, for applicant pool, pending availability of funds and actual staffing requirements.

Duties: Teach assigned courses in the discipline; maintain minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught; prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress; work under supervision of division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area. Duties and responsibilities may include work with multi-media presentation, distance education instruction, and teaching at off-campus sites.

Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in relevant discipline, or a Bachelor’s degree with significant and related work experience. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness. All minimum qualifications must be met by the effective date of appointment.

Desirable qualifications: College teaching experience. CPA or other certification. Distance education instruction.

Pay range: Minimum $1,200 per credit hour. Step placement based on qualifications and experience.
