Chief Financial Management Advisor ($80,000 – $90,000)
This position is responsible for advising the Executive Director on financial direction for all housing programs, management, leadership, and business planning. Oversees the compliance and conformance of HPHA to U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) financial and performance standards, statutes, rules and policies, state laws and rules, and other applicable best practice financial standards.
Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or a related field of study. Comparable work experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year for year basis. Five (5) years of progressive administrative and/or analytical experience that involved designing and administering budget or financial systems; analyzing economic, financial and auditing data; modeling and forecasting financial information; establishing internal financial or auditing controls; developing or revising of standards, policies, procedures, and techniques; program analysis and evaluation, program planning, program budgeting or any combination of these areas; directing a program that provides staff advice and assistance to staff; giving technical advice and direction to management; and preparing and making oral presentations.

U.S. Navy/U.S. Marine Corps Financial Management Trainee Program
The Financial Management Career Program recruits talented individuals at entry-level and prepares them through training and rotational assignments to become federal financial professionals at Navy and Marine Corps activities. The rotations will include at least one out of town rotation of 3–6 months.
This program offers quick promotions to start at General Service Level (GS)7 (approximately $33K per annum plus 25% COLA), followed by promotions each year to GS-9 (approximately $41K plus COLA) and GS-11 (approximately $50K plus COLA). The program is currently 28 months but is expected to be extended to 36 months.
The positions are starting in the May and June timeframe (just in time for students who are about to graduate) and is a great opportunity for anyone wishing to enter Federal civil service in financial management.
