John Cherbini is the National Federal Practice Leader for KPMG’s Advisory Services Practice in the Firm’s Midatlantic Washington, DC office, and has over 33 years of experience in information technology and public sector advisory services. John is responsible for developing and implementing the Firm’s Federal advisory services growth strategy, and he is also responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and achieving the revenue and profitability goals for the Federal practice. He also works extensively with the Firm’s assurance teams to fully understand technology risks facing a diverse group of clients.John has focused on clients’ business transformation, e-business strategy, process re-engineering, change management, IT strategy and IT architecture issues. Prior to joining KPMG, John was a group president at Maximus, where he led the company’s expansion of their federal business. He also served as Vice President of Global Government at EDS, where he was responsible for implementing and executing an operating model for the Global Government Industry practice. His business experience includes service at the Government Accountability Office (GAO); IBM where he was the Global Vice President of their Public Sector Solutions Consulting practice (now Business Innovation Services); and Coopers & Lybrand, where he served as partner in charge of the firm’s Federal Technology and Finance Unit. John began his career with the Arthur Andersen Consulting organization, now known as Accenture. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Government Accountants, and the American Society of Military Comptrollers. He is a certified public accountant in Virginia and Washington, D.C.
